Jumoke Brown
Chief People Officer
Jumoke serves as the Chief People & Culture Officer for Woodland Park Zoo. In this role, she is responsible for leading the Zoo’s overall human resources strategy, talent acquisition, leadership development, diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion, organizational design and cultural development, employee education and development, compensation and benefits, HR operations and technology, employee relations, labor relations, and employee value programs.
She has over 25 years of experience in human resources, with a proven track record of success in strategic human resources, organizational development, DEA&I, organizational influence, and change management. Prior to joining Woodland Park Zoo, Jumoke held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at HCA Healthcare, where she led enterprise-wide HR and OD strategies, including labor relations, DEAI, total rewards, talent acquisition, and leadership development for diverse, multi-union workforce 3,600+ employees. Chaired the employee experience committee, create employee experience design model (attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, exit, and advocacy), and foster inclusivity and belonging during the life cycle. Oversaw, as Chief Negotiator, the labor relations strategy, workforce planning and projects (collective bargaining, compliance, contract administration, grievance investigation, pre-arbitration settlement negotiations, arbitration, and contract negotiations). Enhanced diversity in talent acquisition, enrich talent pool, identify gaps, and develop workforce plans, career development plans, succession management plans, and competency development plans.
